The Master of Arts in Counseling program is committed to preparing students to be highly competent mental health counselors with the knowledge, skills, and competencies requisite for the effective and ethical practice of counseling. The course work and clinical experiences are designed to promote cultural awareness and the development of a professional identity as a mental health counselor.

Initial Program at the Advanced Level for Certification (Fast Track)

The Initial Program at the Advanced Level for Certification prepares candidates to teach in elementary grades (K-6), in secondary grades (7-12 in an area in which Ë®¹ûÅÉ endorses individuals) and in special education grades (K-12). Secondary endorsement areas include the sciences, mathematics, social sciences, English, language arts, foreign languages, and art (K-12).

The Ë®¹ûÅÉ College of Education is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), the Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) and in the Fall of 2019 by the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).

Reporting Measures

Each Education Preparation Provider (EPP) must report and prominently display data on its website relating to the eight Annual Reporting Measures established by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).  The reports document completer performance data, employer satisfaction data, and other consumer information. Ë®¹ûÅÉ College of Education strives to demonstrate our candidate's impact and outcomes data while providing transparency concerning candidate performance.  You can find the reporting measures .
